經國家質檢總局、國家標準化管理委員會批準，國家標準《飯店星級的劃分與評定》將于2011年1月1日實施，全國1.4萬余家星級飯店將同時開展飯店星級評定與復核工作。
       國家旅游局監督管理司司長李任芷在12月13日召開的新聞發布會上說，2010版星級標準主要特點是強調必備項目，在評定檢查時，強調核心產品，將客房產品定位為飯店核心產品，突出客房舒適度的要求；強調綠色環保，一至五星級飯店均要求制訂相應的節能減排方案并付諸實施，取消對牙膏、牙刷、拖鞋、沐浴液、洗發液等客用品的硬性要求；強調應急管理，一至五星級飯店均需制訂火災等6類突發事件處置的應急預案；強調軟件服務，增強了軟件標準評價的客觀性；強調特色經營，在硬件設施評分表中增設商務會議飯店設施、度假飯店設施、其他等三類選擇項目，鼓勵企業按類別集中選項，引導星級飯店特色化、差異化發展。小型豪華精品飯店可以直接申請評定五星級。
       從2011年1月1日起，各地要嚴格按照2010版星級標準和實施辦法的要求，開展飯店星級評定與復核工作。2011年全國星級飯店的對標復核工作將覆蓋所有星級飯店，旅游管理部門將對轄區內的每家星級飯店逐一進行對標檢查，不達標的將被限期整改或取消星級。

      After authorizing of AQSIQ and SAC, national standard of Division of Star Hotels and Evaluation will carry out in January 1st, 2011, 14,000 star hotels will start the work of evaluation and recheck.
      Mr. Li Renzhi, the department chief of National Tourism Bureau Supervise and Administration Department, says on the news conference on December 13th that the 2011 star standard aims at the necessary projects, and emphasizes on core products. He also mentions the environmental protection, emergency management, soft maintenance and characteristic operation.
      From January 1st, the 2010 Division of Star Hotels and Evaluation should be observed. The recheck work will cover all star hotels in 2011, and the Tourist Administration Department should check every star hotel.
